The “C” party will be led by Hilary Turner.
Terraine : Gently undulating. Distance 6.5 miles.
This is a very pleasant low level walk through open countryside and along the coast. Most of it is along well-made tracks and narrow country lanes, past several places of interest, with the return section following the Anglesey Coastal Footpath.
From the car park, we make our way up the road to the school, where we follow a narrow lane then a footpath across fields and beside a wooded river to a lane. There are six well made stiles on this section, but they are easy to negotiate and they are the only ones we will encounter. The lane passes a neolithic buriel chamber, the Din Lligwy Hut Circle and the ruins of Lligwy Chapel, so we will take the time to visit these sites.
We then walk along the lane to Lligwy beach and around the headland back to Moelfre.
