Baslow

Margaret has sent me her walk description for the A party walk.

Baslow. 26th September 2010.

‘A’ party. leader Margaret Bevan. Distance 11 miles. ascent 1600 ft.

White Edge, Froggatt Edge, Curbar and Froggatt Edges.
We climb up Baslow Bar and view the Wellington’s Monument. We continue across the moors to White Edge 1208 ft. Our route continues north to White Edge Lodge, where we turn S.W. to join Froggatt Edge wich joins Curbar and then Baslow Edge. If the weather is good we should get magnificent views over the Derwent Valley. We retrace our steps down Baslow Bar to get the coach.

The weather was dry but it was overcast and quite chilly on the moors, not a good day for photography. The ‘A’ party kept up a good pace and were back at the pub with plenty of time for a pint of Speckled Hen !
