Croston

Marie Shellard led the mid week walk to Croston.

She has sent me this report.

We parked and started from the Black Horse pub and after a short road walk carried on along the embankment beside the River Yarrow to the confluence with the Lostock to Great Hanging Bridge. After crossing the bridge the walk continued along another embankment beside the River Douglas to reach The Leeds & Liverpool canal at Rufford. After crossing White Bridge we walked along a track and alongside several fields to eventually reach the old pack horse bridge in Croston in time for drinks at the pub before returning home.
It was a cold day with ice forming on all the puddles en route and stops were few and far between so the walk was done in record time.

Marie.
