The Beamer’s Trail

Doreen Hunter led this weeks mid week walk.
Here is her report.

On Thursday this week (4th Feb) 16 hardy souls decided to chance the weather and walk the Beamer’s Trail at Witton Country Park. We were well rewarded with a lovely 6.5 mile mile walk with moderate ascents and descents through the woods, hills and valleys.  The day was clear so we were able to have unrestricted views and enjoyed our lunch by the River Darwen. We could have been put off by the mud wrestling but we were made of sterner stuff than that and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of sliding down hill while still remaining upright.
At the end of the walk we had, the now obligatory, tea and cakes at the Visitors centre before wending our way home after a good day out.

Alan writes.
I really enjoyed my day out on the weekday ramble.
I have put some of my images from the day in the Photo album > Beamer’s trail.
