On Thursday 26th November the mid-week walkers enjoyed probably the first fine day for weeks when they went to see
‘The Dream’ at Sutton Manor, St Helens.
The walk started at Bold Heath and went to Clock Face Country Park where we had lunch by the pond.
After lunch we ascended Sutton Manor Country Park to see ‘The Dream’.
The statue was inspired by by a group of ex-miners from Sutton Manor colliery and was built with grants from various organisations. The Country parks were once spoil heaps which have now been landscaped for the enjoyment of walkers, cyclists and fishermen.
At the end of the walk we had tea and cakes at the garden centre at Bold Heath.
The leader was Mavis Whittle.
The next mid-week walk is on Tuesday 1st December to
Billinge ‘Lump’ and Orrell water Park.
The leader will be Audrey Hibbert
